DESCRIPTION:

De la Casa a La Plaza (From. The House To The Plaza) is a project born of the necessity to attend to the lack of activities and strategies to make COVID19 lockdown easier in childhood. Even if during the first month of the pandemics there were a lot of projects and activities to alleviate the psychological and emotional problems caused by the hard lockdown and social distancing; they were primarily designed to attend the adult's world logics and necessities. This situation left out of the conversation the way childhood was living the pandemic, especially how much is needed to play and meet others in our first years of life.

The project activated public spaces in Tlatelolco, through playing songs and performing storytelling daily sessions that were appreciated by kids and adults through their windows. Through the symbolic appropriation of public space, the project aims to open spaces of imagination and community encounter that can remind us that spaces are not only built by tangible materials; our rituals and traditions in the plaza are the real body of our communities and what makes us truth neighbors.
